Dr. Felix Pryor grew up on his grandfather’s farm in Pinetta, Florida, a small community in North Florida. The youngest of eleven children, he knew at an early age animals were his passion. He credits his mother for encouraging and nurturing his interest.

Dr. Pryor graduated valedictorian of his high school senior class in 1988. He attended the University of Florida on an academic scholarship. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in zoology in 1992. Dr. Pryor was accepted into the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993 and graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1997. He was honored with the AAHA Senior Student Award and the American Association of Feline Practitioners Award.

He joined Lake Veterinary Clinic as an associate veterinarian in 1997. He has been with the clinic for 15 years. Dr. Pryor became a co-owner in 2012. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Florida Veterinary Medical Association. In the past he has served as president of the Lake County Veterinary Medical Association. He frequently visits local classrooms for career days and special presentations. Dr. Pryor’s professional interests include small animal medicine, small animal surgery and exotic/wildlife medicine and surgery.

When away from his veterinary profession, Dr. Pryor shares his home with an assortment of pets including cats, dogs, tortoises, snakes, fresh and saltwater aquaria and currently a pink-toed tarantula. Dr. Pryor enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, reading, drawing, gardening and travel. His last trip was a two week safari in Kenya and Tanzania in 2011.

Dr. John H. Weber, Veterinarian for Lake Veterinary ClinicJohn H. Weber, Veterinarian

Dr. John H. Weber was born and grew up in Leesburg. He started working in his father’s veterinary practice at 12 years old. He worked in this veterinary practice all through high school. Growing up in this environment exposed him to many aspects of veterinary medicine and this focused him on his career choice.

After graduation from Leesburg High School as valedictorian of his class, John went directly to the University of Florida. After 2 years of undergraduate classes, he was accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation in 1984, he started practicing in Titusville and returned to Lake County in 1986 working at Lake Veterinary Clinic for Dr. John Hartsfield. Dr. Weber bought the practice at the end of 1996 and owned it until 2012.

Dr. Weber has been a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Florida Veterinary Medical Association since 1984. He is a former president of the Lake Veterinary Association.

In his leisure time, Dr. Weber enjoys spending time with his family, building and flying airplanes, and reading. So far, he has built 2 airplanes from kits that he flies on a regular basis. He is a member of the local Experimental Aircraft Association chapter, and has been an officer of the organization for the last 20 years.
