John H. Weber, Veterinarian

Dr. John H. Weber was born and grew up in Leesburg. He started working in his father’s veterinary practice at 12 years old. He worked in this veterinary practice all through high school. Growing up in this environment exposed him to many aspects of veterinary medicine and this focused him on his career choice.

After graduation from Leesburg High School as valedictorian of his class, John went directly to the University of Florida. After 2 years of undergraduate classes, he was accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation in 1984, he started practicing in Titusville and returned to Lake County in 1986 working at Lake Veterinary Clinic for Dr. John Hartsfield. Dr. Weber bought the practice at the end of 1996 and owned it until 2012.

Dr. Weber has been a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Florida Veterinary Medical Association since 1984. He is a former president of the Lake Veterinary Association.

In his leisure time, Dr. Weber enjoys spending time with his family, building and flying airplanes, and reading. So far, he has built 2 airplanes from kits that he flies on a regular basis. He is a member of the local Experimental Aircraft Association chapter, and has been an officer of the organization for the last 20 years.

Nancy Smith, Veterinarian

A new resident to the central Florida area, Dr. Nancy Smith joined the Lake Veterinary Clinic team in July of 2019.
Dr. Smith atended Mississippi State University where she earned her B.S. in Animal Science.
She then continued her education at the Mississippi State University – College of Veterinary Medicine.  It was there she earned her doctorate in veterinary medicine.  Her first year out of college Dr. Smith worked with an emergency hospital located in Mobile, Alabama. Since that time she has worked in a community practice for cats and dogs in the Florida panhandle.
In her spare time, Dr. Smith enjoys time spending time outside hiking, biking, or camping. She is also an avid reader, with mysteries being her genre of choice!

Rhonda Faulks, Veterinarian

Dr. Rhonda Faulks joined the Lake Veterinary Clinic team January 2020.

Dr. Faulks was born and raised in Tennessee, just west of Nashville.  She began her career in veterinary medicine as a kennel/vet assistant for a veterinarian in her hometown.  From there, she earned her degree in veterinary technology and worked as a licensed technician, both in clinics and as a research assistant for 11 years.  During her time as a research assistant, she returned to school and earned her BS in biology, and at the tender age of 37 was accepted in University of Tennessee’s College of Veterinary Medicine and received her DVM degree in 2001.

She bought a practice in central VA in 2006, and after 13 years of ownership sold the practice and moved to sunny Florida.  She and her wife live in DeLand and currently have a wire fox terrier.  In her spare time she enjoys bike riding, woodworking, and Tennessee women’s basketball, as well as any other interests.
